Day 2: Tea Party

Fall is here to stay, I think.  Today was one of those achingly beautiful days that begs you to throw open all the windows and walk around the backyard barefoot.  We spent most of it outside, with a 3 1/2 hour break for Chuck E. Cheese somewhere in the middle of the day.  L adores the swing we have hanging from the tree in our backyard, and he must have spent at least an hour and a half in that thing, total.  Even his monster truck was swinging along.  M spent her time inventing things, as she usually does, and got her first splinter; removing it with a pair of tweezers was quite traumatic.  N pretended he was running an obstacle course around the backyard (inspired, no doubt, by his love of the TV show “Wipeout”).  MB slept and then gave swinging a go herself.  It really was just a perfect day.  The picture above is, surprisingly, from one of our inside moments; it’s M and MB’s first official tea party.  M set it up, complete with tablecloth and some flowers we found discarded in a parking lot this past weekend.  I had to join in, of course, since MB can’t actually sit up to enjoy her tea as of yet.  I apologize for the poor quality of the photo.  It was the best I could do, and at least it captures the event despite its flaws.  It’s awfully hard to hold a camera steady while trying not to drop a baby or spill imaginary tea.
