Day 25: Costumes Complete!

I finally finished the kids’ costumes today, moments before we headed to a local Halloween festival. It was a lot of fun to make them this year since I didn’t use a pattern, opting instead to just figure it out as I went along. I especially enjoyed figuring out how to embellish each ball to make them look as much like their true-life counterparts as possible without sacrificing any cuteness. I’m not entirely happy with the baseball-glove cover for MB’s carseat, but I suppose it works. The kids had a good time at the festival, but unfortunately the weather was NOT cooperating. We’re getting freezing drizzle and rain today, and the low tonight will be in the mid-twenties. As my husband says, we were hoping for a little more fall before we moved on to winter. Oh well. This weather just makes me want to make some quilts. Which is good because I’ve got to churn out one for L for his birthday in only 10 days!  Here are a few pics of today’s festival . . .
