Day 45: Balloon Glow!

IMG_5443

For the second year in a row we attended the Pirates of the Canyon Balloon Glow here in Amarillo.  We were a bit disappointed in the commercialization of the event compared to last year.  Totally surprised, too.  You see, we pulled up and found that they were charging $5 to park — last year, they charged nothing, and I’d brought no cash with me.  And they weren’t exactly taking debit cards.  So I drove and drove and drove into the parking area, in the dark, looking for a place to safely turn around and leave.  And . . . I parked.  That’s right.  I went renegade on their hot-air-filled arses.  Sorry guys.  I felt really bad, but I’ll buy a bum some lunch sometime soon and maybe the karma will even out.  I hope so.

The balloons were pretty, weren’t they?
