Naptime Sewing: Swim Cover-Up

Summer is coming! I just signed my four- and five-year-olds up for swimming lessons this week, and they are so excited!

I threw together a cover-up for my daughter based on a pattern in the book One Yard Wonders. I added straps at the top to keep it in place . . .

. . . and, to keep it fun, a seahorse applique I made by simplifying a clipart image.

So here my daughter stands, shivering in the breeze.  Who am I kidding?  It’s the high plains, and she’s shivering in the 40 mph winds. Hurry up, Summer, we’re waiting for you!

What a cute cover-up! The seahorse is perfect. And I must say, your sweet little model is a good sport to show off her new swim gear in the wind.
